Q: How soon should we start having lessons?

A: It's a good idea to look at booking your first lesson two to three months out from your wedding day to give you time to feel comfortable with your choreography. Your Wedding Dance is one of the most important parts of the day, and will be a lasting memory for many years to come.

Q: How many lessons do we need?

A: Typically, a 5 lesson package will have you dancing approx 3-3.5mins routine, confidently on your Wedding Day. However this does depend on the style of dance and complexity of the choreography. It also depends on how soon before the wedding you start your lessons. For example, if you start lessons 2 weeks before the day, this may only allow time for 2 lessons.

Q: What song should we choose?

A: There really is no limit to the song choice for a wedding dance! Upbeat songs are becoming just as popular as a romantic bridal waltz. Choose a song that is special to you, if you are concerned about your song choice, we can advise you. If you are worried that your song is too long, too fast or slow, there are options available such as music editing.

Q: What should we bring/wear to our lessons?

A: It is preferable to bring your song(s) on a phone, MP3 player or similar. A video recording device is also very handy so we can film your routine to help your home practice. Wear comfortable clothing so you can move freely. Active wear is fine or stretch pants or a long skirt that replicates your Wedding Dress for the lady and long pants for the man with comfortable shoes. We don't recommend ladies wearing their wedding shoes on the first lesson, best to learn in comfy flats. But do bring your shoes along to lessons if you'd like to have a go!

Q: How often should we practice?

A: We recommend around 15 minutes every second or third night is enough for most couples. The best retention comes from practicing for short periods of time regularly rather than once, immediately before your next lesson.

Q: Can other people be involved in our lesson?

A: Yes. Lessons may also include your bridal party, parents or friends at a small additional cost per extra person. You will need to advise your teacher prior to your lesson if other people will be attending.

Q: What times are available for lessons?

A: Lessons may be conducted during the day, of an evening or on a Saturday. We will do our best to find a time that is suitable to you.

Q: How can we pay?

A: You may pay cash or EFTPOS at the time of your lessons. Packages must be paid for on the day of the first lesson to recieve the discounted rate. Please email us to recieve current rates and packages.

Q: What if we need to cancel our lesson

A: If you do need to cancel or reschedule your lesson, please call us at your earliest convenience. Missed lessons or cancelling with less than 24 hours notice will attract a $20 cancellation fee.

Q: Where is your studio?

A: Our studio is located at PCYC Townsville, 124 Wellington St, Aitkenvale.
